These were picked up for a lot of money by life magazine and the back storty benind how they came about is pretty fascinating too you can check out a quick video about it here http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2009/06/05/snow.new.hitler.photos.cnn

Taken for what it is this kind of thing shouldnt offend anyone. Its history and in this case some candid everyday perspectives that rarely see the light of day (being hidden like these or not). Some of the images are incredibly crisp and the coloring adds some important depth.
I was skepticle about putting these up but, Im glad you guys aren offended (so far) by the pics, bc i thought they were amazing (as a photographic image and as a documentation of history) and the backstory was so crazy to me, the fact that these pics came to light seems so impossible.

I suppose I can see people getting offended by these images, people get offended by just about anything, but I cannot understand it. Had you posted them with some ahistorial article about the greatness of Hitler, or played down the holocaust and the crimes of Nazi Germany it would be different but simply showing images from this time should never cause a problem. The era is fascinating, the images are very interesting, and the period should be discussed.

I agree with Travis. This stuff can't be ignored- a lot of people will be offended by anything these days, and often time use it as a crutch. Seeing these events in color really brings an eerie tone- probably because it reminds us that it was a reality and that it didn't happen too long ago. I think nowadays, we can easily forget about Nazi Germany, think it can never happen and dismiss it as a fable, and all the meanwhile, evil still exists in the world.
